About the Course

In this module students will tackle the topic of sexual abuse and learn how to recognize the warning signs and potential situations that could lead to abuse, such as unwanted attention, inappropriate boundaries, and grooming behaviors. They will learn tactics to remove themselves from dangerous situations and specific strategies, including reporting sexual abuse or potential abuse. Students will hear from fellow peers as they share scenarios and experiences and how they overcame sexually abusive situations as well as steps they took to prevent and report abuse. Finally, students will have an opportunity to reflect on what they have learned and extend their learning through a set of activities designed to foster open dialogue and discussions about these difficult topics.
